the Persian American Society History
A large number of Iranian families immigrated to the united state in the late seventies and early eighties. Like many immigrants they encountered cultural differences which brought up some issues. Those issues were significant enough to capture the attention of a number of families with Persian and American origins. To face and discuss those issues, they arranged family meetings. Gradually, they planned organized activities. Those gatherings and activities helped them to become more acquainted with both cultures. In 1988, they founded a non-profit association (The Persian American Society), to enhance the intercultural understanding and appreciation;, to help the younger generation develop a positive self identity; and to preserve Persian cultural heritage and language.

Now, PAS with more than 20 years of experience and continuous cultural activities, with the support of young generation, is planning to advance further its goals and mission.
